Last time
Now, ever since i joined Star Search (20 years old), i've coloured my hair umpteen times. And I dyed it twice today. Can you image how CANCEROUS it is? I could just die...
Last time, my girlfriends love putting make-up and doll themselves up. Then i'll think to myself, "Put make up very nice meh? I look a lot better than those who put on make up cos my complexion is FLAWLESS." I'll always boast to my buddy how well i can look even without make up...
Now, my complexion is still FLAWLESS but my skin has lost it's rosiness after all the thick make-up. I will look pale without make up. BUT, i still love my complexion cos it feels like baby skin. Laugh! I'm not boastful about it... Just that I'm proud of it. Alright, the main focus is, I said I don't like putting make up last time and now i have to.
Last time, I eat like nobody's business. I always laugh at girls who are skinny and think they are ugly. 能吃是福吗。。。 Why do they diet just to look pretty? 内在美比外在美重要。
Now, I diet like nobody's business. When I started to go on diet, the feeling was awful. I've to eat fish bee hoon almost every meal, drink honey lemon, avoid fried food, no tibits (Ruffles and Lays especially) and keep on exercising. When i see my favourite food, i have to swallow my saliva and walked away. When I met up with my friends, I can only look at them savouring their food. Till now, for almost 2 years, I've not touched roti prata... There are lots of food that I've great cravings for but now... they don't turn my appetite on anymore... I'm used to my diet... How sad... But good thing is, I had a big tummy all along (even during Star Search) but ever since after Reunion Dinner my tummy was gone! NOW, my tummy is bigger cos I keep on eating again... Cos many people say I look too skinny and it's ugly (like how I criticised people last time)...
So... Conclusion is: Whatever I said I won't do last time... I'm doing them now... And this is LIFE!
I'm in need of
- a Canon digital camera (how to capture beautiful images without a good cam)
- a Desktop or laptop (my current one is super duper laggggg)
- 1000GB memory space for memorising scripts and notes (my brain is overloaded)
- time (please stop ticking away furiously)
- Supernatural powers (calling out to all GODS - please bless me with some)

Asian Culture
We were discussing on the topic "Who should chair the meeting when the chairman is absent?"
Scenario One:
Company Secretary announced, "Our Chairman's flight is delayed in Thailand and thus he is unable to attend this meeting. Now, we shall appoint one person to chair this meeting. Who wants to volunteer?"
Asian Culture: Everyone will lower their heads, take their mobile phones out and start to act busy.
Scenario Two:
Company Secretary announced, "Our Chairman's flight is delayed in Thailand and thus he is unable to attend this meeting. Now, we shall appoint Josephine Ling (JL) to chair the meeting."
JL: Huh? Don't want lah. I think Mark Tan is a better candidate to chair (despite the fact that JL is the best person)
Mark Tan: No no no... JL you should chair. No one else is in a better position to chair except you.
Company Secretary: We all agree that you're the best, JL. Please step forward and start the meeting.
JL: I'm not the best lah. I really cannot... (she keeps smiling and shakes her head)
Company Secretary: You can JL. Now let's applause and welcome JL to chair this meeting! (Clap clap clap)
JL: Ok ok.
Asian Culture: Must reject a few times before acknowledging.
My lecturer then cites another typical example:
He was at a graduation ceremony and met his best student's mum.
Lecturer: Hello Mrs Chan! Your son is a smart guy and he's going to have a good future!
Scenario One: If Mrs Chan says: Yah! My son is smart what. I know. Then there will be a sudden silence(冷场)... Follows by the lecturer looking to one side and Mrs Chan looking to the other side.
Scenario Two: Mrs Chan MUST say: Oh no lah! My son is very stupid one! Hahahahaha... Then at least there won't be any silence or sudden halt to the conversation because...
Lecturer: No no no! Your son is very smart... He is our top student of the year! I'm so proud of him!
Mrs Chan: He's not smart lah! From young he's very stupid...
Lecturer: Trust me his talents are admirable...
Mrs Chan: No no no....
And their conversation can go on and on...
Asian Culture: Recognising own's talents seems arrogant.
In a nutshell:
1) Declining one's compliment = HUMBLE
2) Accepting one's compliment = SHAMEFUL

Sun will shine after the darkest hours
It's the most crucial period now.
That is, to examine how much you have understood from the syllabus.
Many chapters to study.
Countless practices.
Sleepless night.
Nightmares.
Deprived of entertainment.
What have you...
COME ON PEOPLE!
All these are part of life and it'll be over soon!
Never say die unless you're really dead, lying in the coffin.
As long as you still have your last breath, there's still HOPE!
Yeah I'm saying this to myself too.
2 more months to prepare for my exams.
Though I'm feeling 80% lost, I'm still pressing on.
最重要的是:不要临时抱佛脚。
Don't try that.
Memorising fact/formula during the the last minute won't get you anywhere.
It's just like picking up any sword to fight in the war before familiarising with it.
You might be able to kill a few enemies, but not all.
I still remember during my A levels, I didn't really study for Physics.
Standing outside the examination hall, I tried to squeeze all the formulas and definitions into my head.
Inside the examination hall, I stared blankly at the paper.
This is call, brain freeze.
It's like gorging yourself with food.
You would probably end up sitting there and stone or fall to the ground.
The feeling is terrible.
We really need to learn how to use our swords and polish it every day.
Then, you can fight your enemies and win the war with glory!
